Community access that follows your interests in Blacktown

There is no single list of activities every participant has to follow. You might want support to attend an appointment, practise shopping, visit a local group, enjoy recreation, use public transport or reconnect with an interest that matters to you.

  • One-to-one support for local outings
  • Shopping, appointments and everyday errands
  • Social, recreational and community activities
  • Public transport and travel-confidence practice
  • Support to communicate and make choices
  • Activities connected to the goals in your NDIS plan
Your goals lead the way

Build confidence through real experiences

Community participation is most useful when it reflects real life. A support worker can help plan the outing, work through accessibility or communication needs and provide the level of assistance agreed with you.

The goal is not to take over. We support you to make choices, communicate preferences, try practical skills and take part at a pace that feels comfortable.

Practising choices and everyday tasks in familiar Blacktown places can make community goals more relevant to the participant’s real life.

Using your NDIS plan for community access

Community access support may be funded through Core Supports under Assistance with Social and Community Participation, or through a relevant Capacity Building support when the activity focuses on developing independence and skills. Funding can only be used for NDIS supports that are included in the plan and align with the participant’s goals.

Ordinary personal expenses—such as meals, tickets, shopping and standard activity entry fees—are generally paid by the participant, not from NDIS support funding.

Meta Healthcare can explain its service and pricing, but the NDIA decides what is funded. Please check the current plan and official NDIS guidance for your circumstances.
